Subject: Kanalog DAC Settings for Speed Control

Hi Tom,

I'm trying to setup a Kanalog DAC output for feeding a VFD 0-10V input via the "S" command. There doesn't seem to be enough information on how to properly set the min and max values in the KMotionCNC tool setup window M0-M30.

The default value for max for the "S" command was 1024. Does this relate to +10V? Does "zero" for the min value represent 0V or is it -10V?

Thanks,

David.

Hi David,

Kanalog DACs have an inverted output so negative count values make positive voltage. So use a negative scale value. The magnitude will depend on your system. Set Max to 0 counts and Min to -2047
